NYC 12-15-14: The NYC premiere of Tim Burton's "Big Eyes" at the Museum of Modern Art starring Amy Adams, Christoph Waltz, Danny Huston, Krysten Ritter, Jason Schwartzman, Delaney Raye and Medline Arthur with music by Danny Elfman.
"Big Eyes" tells the true story of one of the most epic art frauds in history. In the 1950's and 1960's, painter Walter Keane had reached success beyond belief, revolutionizing the commercialization of popular art with his enigmatic paintings of waifs with big eyes. The shocking truth would eventually be discovered though that Walter's works were created by his wife Margaret. "Big Eyes" centers on Margaret's awakening as an artist, the phenomenal success of her paintings, and her tumultuous relationship with her husband, who catapulted to international fame while taking credit for her work.
