NYC 10-29-13: Banksy buys a painting at Gramercy's Housing Works Thrift Shop; "vandalizes" it with a Nazi soldier; signs it along with original artist; then gives it back to the Thrift Shop. "The Banality of the Banality of Evil" represents Day 29 of Banksy's "Better Out Than In" month long residency here in NYC. Housing Works plans on auctioning the painting immediately with all proceeds going to their charities including the homeless and people infected with AIDS/HIV. All photos © Derek Storm
